Please discuss your opinions nicely here instead of on other topics. You may politely counter someones statement, but don't be like "OLOLOLOL MAC RULEZ WINDOWS FAILS!!!!!" or "LOL MAC IS STOOPID!!!!!!!!!!11!!!". Please give reasons why you think one is better.
Yes, Linux is included in the discussion.

Linux isn't listed, but it runs fast on my 7 year-old pc. Windows? A 45+ min. bootup!

Huh.
I always grew up with Windows, and have only used a Mac once. To be honest my opinion was very biased.
I need to use a Mac more

LOL MAC IS STOOPID!!!!!!!!!!11!!!
jk.
Anyway, I think PCs are better, and give more "bang for your buck". Like, a $500 PC has the power of a $1000 Mac. But if someone need their computer to look nice, and stay that way, they should get a Mac, because that aluminum they use is pretty tough, and nice looking.

Considering that Macs are 3x as expensive... I would personally buy a Windows for the extra horsepower you get for the money but... Macs are great!

Ok, that link was to a joke video, but now I'll give my honest opinion.
Macs are great workhorses for media. I can do stuff related to movies, pictures, and other stuff on it just fine. Another perk is that, because it isn't as popular as mainstream computers, it doesn't have much viruses. Plus, if you can afford a Mac, you can look cool at Starbucks.
PCs are great for computer gaming. If you want a great game, get it on PC. A Mac's selection of games is slightly disappointing, but that may change in the future. PCs are also versatile in the fact that you can fully customize their hardware and operating system.
Final score: 50/50, they're pretty equal.

Huzzah! Time for my opinion
Macs: Simple and sleek. Mac computers look good, and so do the graphics. They're for more casual computer users, not for gamers or programmers. They are less customisable than PCs, but does that really matter for a casual computer user? Plus, there's no hassle about getting viruses, and they are really simple to use, but at a cost, literally.
PCs: PCs are great too. While a bit more complicated, and having a bit worse OS graphics (even though Windows 7 sort of fixes that), you can do a lot more. Gamers can play more games, programmers can program. They're also cheaper.

And did I ever mention that I've owned quite a couple of both?

Let me start.
I won't include Linux in my argument for I have not fully experienced it for my computer is low on memory and I don't want to use the rest of it. (although I am trying to free some memory to be able to install Linux sometime soon.)
Macs are better than Windows for the following reason.
1. Macs don't get viruses every month. (yes, this happens to many of my friends.)
2. Macs can open .dmg files.
3. Opinion: the interface is better.
4. I shall continue later. I might just copy/paste the argument from the other threads.

1. You can avoid malware relatively easily with Windows if you just download a good free antivirus and are smart with how you use your computer. I'll give you that you're still less likely to get infected with a Mac, but Windows rigs are not somehow guaranteed to get infected.
2. It's a proprietary format, and is basically the Mac equivalent of an .exe/.iso file. So what's the big deal?
3. That's an opinion obviously, but different options for different sorts I guess. I personally love Windows 7's user interface.
I honestly have little experience with Macs, but my preference is Windows for its broader application/game support, customization (both at the hardware and software level) and better price point. I like Linux too, and have it running on my laptop, although I don't run it on my desktop because I like to game and and sometimes Linux is just a hassle.
