Awesome! Really? We'd be very happy to let you join! Currently we will decide on making it monthly, weekly, daily, etc.. The editors (so far me & you) get to decide that.

Re: Scratch Newsletter

Hi Dardyn5!

You said to post the articles here, so I have written some. If they aren't good enough for the Scratch Newsletter, feel free to tell me.

TREE 3.0

Created by henrystanley, this miraculous project creates a randomly generated tree. Give it a minute to draw, and you'll have a tree! In addition to that, there are three leaf types your tree could have: pine, regular, and ginko.  With brilliant programming and amazing graphics, I am proud to announce this creation to the Scratch Newsletter. Want to see it? http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/henrystanley/1761667 Go check it out! This is definitely a wonderful project that someone could sit down and watch for hours and never be bored. Tree 3.0 is the work of a master.

STARS OF THE FUTURE

"Most Addicting GAME EVER!!!!! AWESOME PROJECT!!! " -Aliendude12. Created by Amelie118, this game has 10 incredibly programmed levels - getting harder each time. Use the arrow keys to control the little ball, and try to get to the big star. With amazing creativity and effort packed into this project, I am more than happy to announce this to the Scratch Newsletter. Want to see it? http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Amelie118/1830749 Check it out! This game is one of those games that you can't stop playing and coming back to, even if you've seen it a million times. Stars of the Future is a project worthy of tremendous fame.

--

I'll try to make more, but should they all be about projects? Or updates about what's happening? Both?

Anyways, thanks for letting me join!

Cool! I think that you use "I am proud to present this project to the scratch magazine.." too often. So, if you could edit that and give me the completed one, that would be great. -iNetMaster- and I will edit this to see if it will make it in.

Also, I should mention that it's a mirror for an already existing site, you don't actually host stuff on there, but it looks like you did.

Re: Scratch Newsletter

I got LS97 to answer some questions for an interview. Here they are:

Q: What project do you think started your fame?
A: Probably Backward had the most effect (only recently curated), but my first famous project is uncreatively named 'front' and was a suggestion for the front page. I have to say the design studio helped me scale upwards!

Q: What's your favorite projects you've seen?
A: My absolute favorite project is Runner by Jp-Joao-2, but I have many faved projects which are too many to list!

Q: Do you have any advice on making good projects?
A: I don't consider myself a teacher, but if I have to give a tip, it's this: always think about the person on the other side. Will they get bored after a while, or is it a good game to play? You've maybe already played the game 100 times, is it too hard for a first-time player? Is it long enough? I prefer longer games than really short ones. Also, make it attractive and (reasonably) glitch-free.

Q: What project are you most proud of?
A: My best project is Backward. I'm very fond of my first game too: Voyager Single Player. Of course it's not that good scripting. I also love playing my recent minigames: 'Falling trolls', 'The cobra's cave' and 'Time traveler'.

----

I'm so excited we can put a famous Scratcher in the newsletter!

I hope the editors like it and put it in the Scratch Newsletter.

Happy I could help!

Q: Do you have any advice to making good projects?
A: 1st: Make something new and interesting. 2nd: Make sure the player won't get frustrated or bored. 3rd: When you think you're done, add more.

Re: Scratch Newsletter

What would be cool is an article called:
A Piece of Nostilagia.
And it is about current events: as they were current in 2010. So it is written like it happened recently, but it happened in 2010, and at the end of the article it always says when the event happened and so on.
