Interested in applying to be a Scratch curator?
We choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community.
When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you.
Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post on this thread, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Here's an example of one that I recently added to my favorites: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MitFan/874786
Scratch On!
Hello. I would LOVE to be a curator. Mostly because I would like to give a spotlight to scratchers and friends who only get viewed by people they know, and don't have fresh audiances. I would also like to show some good projects that I "discovered" and thought were GREAT! I hope I can get in!

Ok. I'm gonna try again, seeing as I'm now a 'scratcher'.
I know lots of projects. They're pretty cool, but they're made by people whose stuff isn't so popular. No offence, my point is that they should get more views, and get noticed. People make really cool stuff, like pen projects and stuff. But it's usually platformers and games and stuff that get featured. I don't really think that's fair. It's not about what kind of game it is, it's about how it's made, how original it is, how complex it is and how well programmed it is.
If I were to become a curator (hint, hint ) I would favourite projects that are those kind of projects, those amazing projects, that don't normally get front paged. Because they should, and they need a chance to shine.
I also like things that have very high (or very low, depending) amounts of scripts. I think they are amazing in their own special way. Isn't it amazing that people make 1s1s's that are normally done with at least 10 scripts? And isn't it amazing, the amount of work people put into projects that contain lots of scripts? I think they need a bit of congrats.
SO if I were to be chosen, people who do amazing stuff that no-one knows about will get noticed. People who spend months on projects will get noticed. Let's give different sorts of projects a chance!!!

I want to be a curator. I want to show platformer games. I want to show them because they always get overlooked

i like games where you have to beat AIs, but more often i play games with complicated AIs. i download and study from both types.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Midecah/569176 this is a hard and challenging game, but is sort of long and can get boring. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Kileymeister/1596521 this game is pretty easy, but i cant stop myself from playing when im bored.
these games are my only favorites, as i am a new scratcher, but i think being a curator would be cool when i am more experienced

I think becoming a curator would be great! My interest would be to find amazing, educational, and fun projects made by unknown users.

Hmm... A curator seems like a big responsibility. I have now been on Scratch for I think about two years now. I was around when the curating began (Though I did not have an account). Since then I have wanted to be a curator, though that doesn't sound much different then the other one-thousand applicants. I realize that the Scratch Team want's a curator that will choose projects the community would appreciate. I believe that right now people want good animations, and games based on what I have seen. I will not choose projects now, but rather stage a contest where people can enter their animations, and I might choose them. I don't know if this is the way the Scratch Team would like me to do it. And I can change the way I select projects. There would be rules to entering the contest, like, you must have had an account for a month, the projects must have less than 100 views, etc. Now let's get to the checklist.
On often: | X
Knows the Scratch community well | X
Has had an account for a year | X
Never been banned | X
I believe that I check out. Also, I have been curated. So I know how I would want it done. If there is anything I have missed please inform me. Also, the Scratch Team wants a wide variety of Scratchers. They want gamers, storytellers, animators, boys, and girls. I am a slight gamer, but a great member in the community.

Hello! I would love to be a curator. I would curator many different types of projects from platformers to very advanced AI. I remember the first time I every got front paged. It was because of a curator. I would love to share my joy with other scratchers so that they can feel as happy as I did when I got curated. Please take my application into consideration for I would love to be curator.
Best Regards,

No you can't.
Wiki Curator page wrote:
A curator is a Scratcher who, for a shift of two weeks, features three projects of their choice on the Front Page via their recent favorites. They can choose whatever projects they like in those two weeks and change them, as long as the projects are not their own, do not belong to a member of the Scratch Team, and follow the Terms of Use. The Scratch Team recommends that curators change their choice of projects on the front page at least twice a week, although curators have the option to change the projects as often as they wish. [1]

I've never been on the front page. A lot of people say that my projects should be feutured, (a.k.a my project "the mission"(read comments)) and I think it would be nice If I could become curatoer. I would show projects that are from people who, like me, have good projects but have never been front paged before.
