Wow, I've had the same experience!

Scratch is supposed to be a fun and friendly environment. But sometimes, you can get into an argument.

Someone copied on of my dress up games a while back. I kept flagging, but she kept remixing and claiming as her own.
Sooner or later, the scratch team sent me a message saying that they encorage remixing and to not let it get to me.
So, I added the user to my ignore list.

I hate ignoring others, but sometimes it must be done.
See, when you ignore someone they are no longer able to see your projects, but you are unable to see theirs. It's sort of a give-and-take situation.

I hope you learn from my mistake! Flag once! If it keeps going on, ignore!

If it;s an exactly copy of your original project, that isn't allowed. You can flag it and don't forget to leave the reason for flagging and a link to your original project in the report!

If the user changed something, however, it's more likely to be counted as a remix. Since you say that it's a small change, you can have the Scratch Team take a look at it and they can tell you if they count it as a remix or not.

Yup, exactly. I had this happen to me once. I tried to ask the user polietly to take down the project, but they refused saying that they were mad that someone else had copied their project as well. I asked again, but he/she still refused and so I flagged it. Of course, the person got a bit angry and so I had to ignore them...

Moral of the Story: Ask and explain first.

I already knew that exact copies weren't allowed and I explained that and also that if they wanted easy access to my project, they could "favorite" it and it would show up on the page. Some people may not realize that it's not ok to directly copy other's projects- especialy New Scratchers.
