R.I.P. DS Lite. I can't help remembering all the times you cheered me up when I was down. WHat happened when I was banned from Scratch for a month? I turned to you for entertainment as I had no TV. (The weather was nasty that month, all rainy and...gloomy.) When I wanted to have long conversations with myself on Pictochat? You could do that for me. When my friends all seemed to disappear or betray me, you were there. You and I had the strongest bond between us than any child and machine in this land.
Then, I gave you away. When I got that pink DSi for my birthday, I decided I didn't need you anymore. I gave you to my friend.
Then, a few months later, when my friend was visiting...I killed you. I heartlessly murdered you. With my elbow, I carelessly knocked you off the table. You became beheaded (or, should I say, betopscreened). All my conversations to myself on Pictochat, all the secrets that I trusted you with, the long hours that I spent with you and you alone - gone, all gone. I picked up what was left of you and cried. I think I cried for hours.
Please forgive me. I know that you are in great pain right now while the workers at Gamestop seek to repair your hinge. I will never be so reckless and mean again.
---
So, how was that? I spent an hour writing it, and it's all true, too. If you're confused, I broke my DS Lite and I am asking for forgiveness.
So, why shouldn't you drop a DS Lite?
The hinge WILL break, and it WILL be destroyed.

So it's not just mine!

Nope. That model was poorly made.

Yeah. I also gave it to my friend. Mine is't currently dead, but the hinge is floppy and the buttons don't work unless you hold them.

That's what happened the day I gave it to my friend, but then it broke totally off later.

Good story, my DS Lite can't read any of my games for some reason.
Take it in to GameStop. They can probably repair it.

Okay. Put it on a window sill. Then knock it off the window sill with your elbow. Do it as fast as you can. Your hinge (or at least part of it) will probably break.

Naw, just kidding. Well, they do, but that's not what I meant.
Several times during this I tried to imply that I was insane. Did it succeed?

That wouldn't work because all our windows are like doors. You can go through them if they are open.
BTW I just thought about dropping a DS Lite

Thoughts lead to actions.
But okay. Go outside. Put it on...something like a picnic table. THEN knock it off with your elbow really hard.
But some are better with the hinge than others.
Try opening it really fast. That's how I broke the hinge first, then I gave it to my friend while it was half-broken, and then I broke it completely.

A friend accidentally ripped off the top half off my original DS a while ago.
Fortunately I stole my sister's, who doesn't use hers anymore.

Like computers! Have you ever noticed that your computer is upset and runs even slower when you yell at it?

My friend's brother has ripped the top screen off on fifteen DS's. And they were all my friend's. (Oh, BTW different friend than the one I gave my DSLite to.)
