It can still be stopped. Let's see how the scratch team feels about you segregating new people from joining games. I can trust them to have common sense in this situation.

but they will most likely be drawn over by the topics on here, which say 'n00b'. what will you call them? new players?

The topics are called "everyone can join" and "only 'experienced' members can join." Note the quotes around "experienced."

And I'm not the only person deciding. Everyone in this group is.

Sorry about the overuse of caps and exclamation marks. But tow topics each isn't segregating. It's getting them used to the RPing style of the host and the host to get used to their version of that style. I probably hsouldn't call it the n00b section, but that was the original name so I kept it.

What this is doing is basically spamming up the RPG section. Segregating means separating people from each other. You know how the armies back then separated the black people from the white people in military divisions? Do you honestly think people will learn anything from not playing with the 'experienced RPGers' if they are supposed to be learning how to play? You're not even giving them a first chance.

It's not that the experienced people aren't playing with them. It's just that they're forbidden to fight with them and are giving them a tutorial of how to play, sort of. Meh, you're not getting the message.

Welcome to [rpg name!] If you're a new player, start here. I'll give you some help and so will the other members. No one is going to fight with you here. You'll be given hints, and you can earn experience points along the way.

If you've played this game before and I have awarded you with your virtual certificate, go to the other topic.

This game is just to get you used to the real game. You'll be in here for about two days and then you can go into the other topic.

You will be instantly teleported to keep up with the other users.

The real version has no experience points and you can play it for as long as you'd like.

If someone is mean to you report the post. Don't tell me.

Make sure to be nice to the other characters if they are on the same side as you.

If we determine that your character is a Mary-Sue or that you are powerplaying, we will help you develop a great character and teach you the right way to not powerplay and still have fun. If you really want to powerplay, There are topics just for that. Just don't bother the other players too much.

Again, we will not yell at you unless you snap at us.

So let's go! You awaken in "Tutorial Village."

And the experienced members teach them the battle system, how to earn "money" in the game, how to shop in the game, and other tricks. When they've learned about the RPG and their character is set to go, they're promoted into the other game.

Does that make sense? The so-called "n00b section" is more like a tutorial center. So that they can ask for help. They can start by joining the experienced group if they think they're experienced enough but if I notice that they're struggling I'll tell them that I've noticed something and they could need some help. If they say "no thanks" I'll say "okay, maybe you can fix the problem yourself." And I'll suggest getting spell checker if their spelling is rather annoying.

Roleplaying. You role play as a role. You don't decide everything before a game. You go into the universe of the game and pretend it's real. You don't say it's a game. Thanks for calling me a genius by the way I totally agree with that part.

I don't really agree with this idea. And I don't think it'll really help either, with giving TBG "life". All we need are some really good, original RPGs. If I were a new user, I wouldn't want to have to go into a seperate category because people didn't think I was "experienced" enough... that would just annoy me, and I wouldn't end up joining at all. Plus, what makes you qualified to judge whether other people are experience role-players?

..... I kind of agree with Wikimen, but only as I haven't posted once in the RPG's.

Wickimen makes a good point though. Even all of you together can't decide if someone is experienced or not. It depends on the person, not your opinions. Also nobody would actually join the tutorial island topic because you straight-up call it the n00b topic. That's an insulting term. You're just bringing on more problems by doing this kind of thing. I don't know if you were here for this, but this is starting to look like another forum fighters and god knows we don't need or want another one of those.

Oops.. It kind of took me 10 minutes to type that paragraph up because I'm also watching TV so I started writing my post before you posted yours.
