I've been trying to download portal, and I started downloading it 26 hours ago, and it's still downloading. Something is seriously wrong with my computer.  neutral

Discuss how "great" technology is.

I had been making a Terraria server for me an my IRL friend and got a headset just to Steam voice chat with him. I used it for one session and then his computer shuts down. He'll need to reboot and re-download everything.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Once some software I put on my computer was downloading for 3 hours, then froze and had to restart...  sad  lol

I have, to this day, have never been able to install World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King onto my computer. It freezes then fails.

Very true. Of course, your situation is still odd. Portal isn't a very large game, and Steam downloads are usually very fast. I've hit 2 mb/s on some downloads.

I thought it was only for 360. Unless its a different portal. My comp wouldnt be able to handle stuff like that.

360, PS3, Windows, and Mac OS X. Valve always releases their games for the PC, for which I'm glad. It actually runs fairly well on mid-range computers, so you should give it a shot if you can. It's really a much better experience with a mouse and keyboard.
