The Giver would be REALLY neat to watch as a movie, considering the world is in black an white.
In the end it would go to color though, when he escapes.

Which would be really cool
The problem is that pretty much the only crowd it could draw in this day in age is people who have read the book, considering that it would be black and white and people would see that as a a flaw...

Did you know there are sequels?
But anyway, I totally agree that the Giver would be an awesome movie.

This may be a bit offtopic... but there are quite a few video games that could deserve movies.

Examples, please? From what I've seen, all video game movies are terrible.

Final Fantasy XIII, that thing is basically an interactive movie in the eyes of many fans.
Final Fantasy VI
Kingdom Hearts
Portal (series)
Legend of Zelda
Pokemon
A VG movie doesn't have to follow the plot of the game, but instead set in the same universe, maybe behind the scenes of events in the game or set after or before the game. And animated.
