HD Scratch?

Is there any chance that an HD version will come out? I've been getting really annoyed with the tiny resolution (480x360), as most games end up looking really pixelated and unprofessional. I've figured a couple techniques to make it look fine, but it's not crystal clear, and that's really disappointing. I love Scratch overall, I've played with it for years, but right now this one thing is getting annoying.

I'd suggest it, but I don't have enough posts, so the popup suggested posting it here.
Thoughts on this? Is it a good idea?

Cheers,

Re: HD Scratch?

It might increase in the next version.
Maybe like 800x600 or something?

Back. For now. Maybe.

Re: HD Scratch?

Scratch 2.0 will support vector graphics (graphics based on curves instead of pixels), meaning it can be resized without any loss of resolution.

Really? How do you know that?

That's listed only has a possible feature. The ST hasn't confirmed it.  hmm

Oh, and I support this as long as we can keep it from being too slow on older computers. a higher resolution screen would be nice.

Re: HD Scratch?

in order to get better graphics you hit  "edit, compress images" then set the jpg quality to 100.

Compressing images only makes the quality worse, I thought.

And would that even work for re-sizing?

Re: HD Scratch?

A possibility is that you could set a custom size for your projects. That would be useful for minigames, which are usually 400x400, and also HD games, which can be 1024x768.

1024x768 isn't HD. there's 720p HD (1280x720, also known as HDready) or 1080p HD (1920x1080, also known as FullHD.)

this isn't necessarily the highest definition; it's just a suggestion for a higher definition than there is

Maybe we can have these blocks.

Or we can just have custom screen resolutions that are pre-set, so we don't make oversized projects.
