"Official" Physics Topic

Talk anything here about physics.

If you have any questions, ask them and I will add them to a list up here. I will add new questions every day so keep checking by.

I will also have a Vocab section on here as we build more vocabulary on this topic. If you have any vocab you would like to add on the list, just tell me the name and the definition.

Every day, a new quiz problem will be put up. Starting with basic ones and then it will get harder.

Questions:
What is the purpose of the Large Hadron Collider?
What is a scaler?

Vocabulary:
Gravity-
Speed-
Vector- A quantity that has magnitude and direction.
Velocity-
Volume-

Formula's:
Velocity-

Quiz Problem's:

Is there anything else you think should be added to here? Just say so.

A vector is a quantity that has magnitude and direction. It's the very basis of physics.

Lol I'm one of the best at Physics in my class and I don't even know how  big_smile  I'll answer a question:

What is the formula for Velocity? Distance divided by time, usually m/s.

Hmm okay, an easy one since the thread is just starting: What would be an example of an electromagnetic wave?

EDIT: Rephrased so now it's actually a question.  tongue

Re: "Official" Physics Topic

I have always been interested in physics, and how micro organisms of the world work together as the basis for one complete object. Something amazing, so that the average human mind cant comprehend its endless-seeming qualities of their limits.

anyway, new vocab:
termenal velocity- the top speed of a falling object.

Formula for gravity: Force=G(m1*m2/d^2)

Where:
G is the gravitational constant: 6.67x10^-11
m1 and m2 are the two mass being used, usually measured in kilograms
d is the distance between the objects.

Law of Conservation of Energy: In a closed system, energy cannot be created or destroyed, but may change its form.

Antimatter: The opposite of matter. Will explode upon contact with matter, so must be held in a field. Very expensive to create.
