Probably by getting a lot of people to add them to their friend's list so that they would see it as fast as possible, adding a ton of tags, and possibly (though not for most of your examples) advertising on the Show and Tell forums. After a bit it sort of snowballs if you stay active.
Making good projects in general is the largest factor above all else though.

I've seen a lot of good projects from unnoticed Scratchers, but their inactivity is often why their stuff goes unnoticed.
So aside from making good project, you also have to get yourself put there. Advertising in Show and Tell, commenting on other peoples projects, adding your projects to relevant galleries are usually the best way to go.
Here's a nice guide that talks about getting your projects and galleries more exposed to the masses .

Just be active in the Scratch community. Post projects often, comment on other people's projects and galleries, post in the forums. All these are excellent ways of showing that you are active. You can also look "professional" by using proper grammar, not making rude comments or posts, and just be friendly to people you meet.
RANDOM THOUGHT: If the tomato is a fruit, doesn't that make ketchup a smoothie?
