What's wrong with them? They are furry and cuddly, fun to play with, are great pets and I even have 2 pet rats!
Every few days you have to put food in their bowl and water in their drip bottle (they lick a ball inside the tube and water comes out) or in their water bowl.
If you want to play with them, take them out of their cage and put them on your shoulder. Their grip should be tight. But sit down on the couch and let them crawl around on YOU.
When you are done, put them in their cage and lock it. I have had many adrenaline-rush moments when the cage door was left open. But if you do close it, make sure to get them out the next day.
Please discuss pet rats and rattus norvegicus, or the brown rat.

They spread rabies, are forgers, steal food, and are disgusting in health and cleanliness.
And they spread the BLACK PLAGUE

Only if you think it's like that.
Think like what? o.O

You have rats that they know don't have infection and are tamed.
Other rats steal food and spread disease.

At this one sleep-over I went too, the girls were sleeping in one room, and us guys in another. We stole one of the bras, filled up with syrup and put it in the freezer.
Good times.

Nothing's wrong with them. Yeah, some of them carry diseases, but I think people just stereotype them way too much. It's like sharks. You may already know this, but bee stings kill more people each year than shark attacks. In fact, this is a really rare occurrence. Perhaps, the movie "Jaws" has caused some to believe that they kill lots of people. Maybe the same thing happened to rats. Now, I'm not saying you should linger near sharks or diseased rats. As long as you know it's safe. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the pet rats are perfectly safe.

Rat's were only vessels in the spread of the Bubonic Plauge (The Black Plauge). What happened was that fleas had the plauge, and went on to the rats, and bit them.
Now the rats have the plauge.
Now, I wouldn't be so worried about rats as I would about fleas.

Dude that's totally untrue.
Some rats spread disease, especially in very unhygienic times like the medieval ages where they didn't know about disease. They actually groom themselves meticulously, like mice, but often it is true they live in sewers so theyr'e not so clean in that sense.
But chew on this:
-Rats bite and may attack people for self defense. For centuries humans have tried killing rats, and humans are much bigger than them, so it makes sense.
- Rats are an important food source for many animals, so they are benificial
-Rats are sacrificed for multi-millions of experiments every year, another way they give up their lives for us (whether they want to or not, it's still important to note)
Besides, they're only overpopulated because of humans
They deserve respect like every other animal in this world. You don't have to like them ,but they have the right to be on this planet as much as you or I.~

btw steal food really
you mean like the stuff in garbages that people throw away
the things carelessly thrown in the streets
the food people don't take the time to put away safely
the food they need to survive?
oh yeah that food
//isn't forging like illegally tricking or faking something? just a question. if you were talking about looking around for food, there's nothing wrong with that. it's how they live
