All my Scratch projects' icons became the BYOB icon as soon as I downloaded it...

Same here!
I have a mac (no, that's not my username) Though, when I open them it uses scratch.

Hmm... a similar thing happened to me, but I use Windows Vista.
Right when I downloaded, the default program for .sb became BYOB instead of Scratch. If I downloaded a Scratch project, or opened one from the Computer folder, it would always come up in BYOB, which was annoying.
I had to switch the default program for .sb in the Control Panel back to Scratch, and it works fine now. I'm not quite sure how to make this work for a Mac, but I bet it's a similar thing.

OK what you do is right click one of your projects, click open with, click or search for scratch, make sure "always open with this is checked"(or something like this) now it should be fixed.

hmm... Have you used my ConvertIT. It may have done something, if not, it probably replaced the scratch folder when installation. That's the only rational way to explain it. Re-install scratch.

It can be fixed , google for how to change file associations on a MAC (i use solaris & windows so macs are rare but i am sure apple made something for it) . Then change ur file association with a .sb file to scratch instead of byob
