I for one think the people who do this are dumb as a rock. I love the show because of the cause. The whales have no reason to die. Numbers are decrecing and they just willynilly waltz over there and harpone them. You know last year the "Whalers" Tryed to frame us for damaging there peoples eyes? There doing something stupid and are so commided they are trying to make us stop with police force.

whaling helps us retrive resources like oil and whale skin. whales have been on the earth 2 times longer than primates and about 4 times longer than humams and if they couldn't stay on top of the food chain after man came, oh well, i guess they're just another species of lower lifeforms.

You mean when the one leprechaun is on the whaling boat?
I love that series

Also it's supposed to be our opinion but you told us to discuss the 'evilness" of whaling. What if we don't think it's evil?Oh I agree with you. I don't like whaling, but I'm not gonna become a criminal to stop it. What the people on Whale Wars are doing is ILLEGAL and they shouldn't get away with it. I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE D:<
It is to let us live & eat. Whaling is eating whales, and while it may seem nasty and bad to you, it has to happen.
That is not a good cause, it is a lifely godly supercalifragous good cause.

Sure, you can get oil from whale blubber, but can't you just get oil from the ground? There's tons of oil in other places we can use, that doesn't include whales being killed.

No, when Artemis was plotting his trap to kill Root, he chose a whaling ship to blow up because "There are less questionable ways to get [something]-based products."

Oh yeah, that's what I meant. The bomb-rigged ship.

If I had an option...
I would take a huge battleship and aircraft carrier.
And drop a nuke on the Steve Irwin.
Take out the other ship they've got.
With BIG guns.

A nuke would cause about 3000 more problems than whaling ever will, [removed by moderator]

Time out.
This is obviously a heated and emotional topic - very close to flamebait in my opinion. But I will allow the discussion to continue if you folks remember a couple of simple rules:
1. It is okay to disagree with somebody. That's what makes debates interesting and possibly even educational.
2. It is okay to attack the position that somebody holds on a subject - as long as it is done respectfully. Hopefully you will use good arguments with supporting sources - but that is not a requirement.
3. It is never okay to attack the person. If you find yourself making negative personal remarks about somebody, you are stepping over the line. Stop immediately.
I hope that is clear.
Okay, back at it - let's figure out if whales are just another animal food/material resource or if they deserve some sort of special consideration because they are big mammals near extinction.

Hmmm... Don't we feel that our resources are running out, and we should try to save them? Doesn't that mean that if whales are running out, we should try and save them too?

Yes.
Yes, and if we keep killing them, we won't have any whale oil left. You have to save them in order to get their valuable blubber. (I'm not saying that people should kill the, but you know what I mean)
