Whoa... 2.0 is resurrecting some old features...

Here, I found some info on Scratch 0.2, and there were some interesting images...
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LqX4jQFo1sg/TebUiM8tP8I/AAAAAAAAAD4/AxLq4MSj2D4/s1600/1.pngFirstly, This looks like this is the "create your own block" that will be in Scratch 2.0, so this used to be in Scratch...
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t-i_qYLBfHk/TebUiFREw5I/AAAAAAAAAEA/LuHgbMRamrE/s1600/2.png Again, this picture looks like the new upcoming feature.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TvKrdXEq0Yg/TebUinVqN2I/AAAAAAAAAEI/e76_ObJ9lGE/s1600/3.png this is the "repeat until broadcasted" block that so many people have asked for... I wonder why it was removed...

Re: Whoa... 2.0 is resurrecting some old features...

Wait, you could create custom methods in a previous version (perhaps alpha or beta) of Scratch? I wonder why such a good feature would be removed?

Wow... I've these pictures before but I've never thought that they are similar to some of the features in Scratch 2.0!

+1, though I thought it's from 0.1.

I thought it was from 0.1 too.
I thought the grey one with a bigger screen could be 0.0.1.

Yeah, I don't see anywhere, where it says "This is being implemented into 2.0".

The "create your own block" feature mentioned first is going into Scratch 2.0 though. http://suggest.scratch.mit.edu/forums/6 … ?ref=title

Rexpup never suggested that the the "repeat until broadcast ___" block would be in Scratch 2.0 either, only that a lot of people have been clamoring for it.

Um...Scratch 0.2 never came out. xD

Anyway, you're saying Scratch 2 will have some of the old features that the very old version of Scratch had?

Tomfoolery

The act of doing something so dumb that no one noticed it was dumb except for the people who actually noticed.

Oh, I didn't see the block linked to the other script. Thanks for clearing that up.  smile

You're right, I did not say that about the second one.

Yeah, I think that it was made to be printed on a laser printer or something...

Awesome find!
I find it funny how the writing is all serious and complex and then the images are of cats spinning around and "Mr.Crazy" or a quick doodle of a smiling face.

Re: Whoa... 2.0 is resurrecting some old features...

I read the whole thing, and I found it really interesting.

Now I understand where the shoutGo and the forward: methods came from!

I find it ironic how they started with nothing, made all these new awesome features like procedures and flags and mail, and then decided it was all useless and resorted to string broadcasts  tongue

Yeah, really.  I think that it look a bit too complex for children at the time.  Which it was.
