I admit, I got this from the Your Opinion On Smoking thread, but I watch the show Whale Wars and I want to hear your hopefully negative rants about whaling. Since everyone on Scratch is probably against it anyway, this probably won't turn into a flame. I just want to hear your unique opinion and/or rant, it's fun to hear what you all have to say.

WHY DO THEY DO THAT TO THE WHALES? mad Their numbers are going down anyway so why do they kill them and make the population smaller? The world has enough problems already so why make another one? Whales are awesome, and each time they kill one whale, even if the others survive what will happen to the dead whale's baby? Who's gonna take care of the baby if it's a blue whale (Blue whales don't travel in pods) and who's gonna help stop this? [/rant]

Discuss the evilness of whaling and voice your opinion on what you think we should do or what you think is right and what you believe in and all that jazz. hmm

Also it's supposed to be our opinion but you told us to discuss the 'evilness" of whaling. What if we don't think it's evil?

Oh I agree with you. I don't like whaling, but I'm not gonna become a criminal to stop it. What the people on Whale Wars are doing is ILLEGAL and they shouldn't get away with it. I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE D:<

If it's unneeded, that's why they're here. To help save the whales. Even if they don't do anything, they believe in it. And they don't lie. Good people don't lie. Especially people who are trying to save whales that are almost extinct because of the people killing them. And for everyone who has posted in this thread, I didn't ask for your opinion on the TV show Whale Wars. I asked for your opinion on whaling in general. neutral

Well, they make good things out of whale like whale oil which is a good alternative to natural oil. It's not useless, but it's somewhat cruel...I don't mind whaling too much, even if they do kill the whales. Do you become overcome with rage every time you eat a chicken nugget?

Whalers shouldn't use whale oil as an excuse for killing innocent creatures! In my opinion, if we're going to use whale oil, let's use stem cells to clone whale blubber instead of killing more whales. I mean, we have the technology. The only reason we don't use it is because of stupid politicians arguing on how to use money efficiently!

I've said the same on water-powered cars.

TL;DR: Whalers are evil. Let's use technology.
