Why? If anything you shouldn't be allowed on the main forums...

Why? It's because they don't want me "wasting time" playing games with people who are banned, but it's OK if I'm helping people here. They don't know about misc.

Oh... my thinking was that it's more rowdy here than in the TBG
Though that bit about 'people who are banned' is a LOT better now.

I know. Maybe I can convince them to let me go back? BTW, how's my tokens account? Has it dropped into negatives?

I'm pretty sure Miscellaneous is here to stay. Yes, it has issues (spam, flame wars, etc.) but it also has some interesting discussions. And as long as we all help out with the negative stuff by being friendly towards one another and using the Report link when necessary, it will continue to be a fun place to hang out.

I agree, the report button is the best way to clam down these things.

It can't be closed. Where will we get out inspriation? That's what inspiration and more is for. It seems like everyone forgets that. Miscellaneous isn't "OH HAI THIS ISH TEH SPAM FORUM".
Miscellaneous = Twitter
Illusion maker = Miscellaneous w/ look = Twitter being tricked = Twitter falling into a pit of lava.

Without an off-topic forum, the off-topic posts would go into other forums. At least they are here instead of somewhere else. We should keep this forum, so chat galleries and projects don't go booming. If you don't like off-topic posts, nobody's putting a gun up to your head and saying "Go on Miscellanuous", so just leave this forum alone and do the other stuff. You have the freedom to use or not use Misc, so choose whichever one you want, but don't ruin it for the rest of us.

We shouldn't close Misc.
Sure, it has it's issues - spam, flaming, whatever... but imagin how many users would leave if it was closed!

More than 7/8 of all Scratch users are not spammers!

I don't support.

I say keep the miscellaneous forum! Where else can Scratchers share their experiences? Sure theres always FaceBook, Twitter, ect, but it just wouldn't be the same. Not to mention not everyone( including myself) even has a Facebook, Twitter, ect, page.

Could you guys tell me how I could make my own forum because I really don't know how:(
You can make your own forum thread by going to one of the categories (for example, if you wanted to make a thread that's advertising one of your projects, you'd go to Show & Tell). In the top right hand corner of the forum (above all the thread names), there should be a link that says "Post new topic". You can then type in a title for your thread, and the content that will make the first post.
In some of the categories, such as Announcements, FAQ and Miscellaneous, you won't be able to post a thread - for Miscellaneous, you must be a Scratcher (just keep active, and you'll become one soon enough), and for the other two, only moderators and the Scratch Team can post new threads. Hope this helps

I was always for keeping this forum up. But now I've just gotten sick of it.
It is the source of all spam, twitter updates, cool stories by bros and flames. I always believed it was there so we could all get to know each other, but now it's just ridiculous. A freakin' web comic was made to make fun of it. I think you all have to agree the misc forums have been going on long enough.
So, i think it's time to take it down.

Don't want it closed? Look below. How many flame-bait or worthless topics do you see? 2

I think that people on Misc. can only make 5 topics a week. Maybe less.

I think more mods are a better idea. Especially over a variety of time zones.

The Scratch Team has already said that we have enough Mod's for now. The only reason we would get new mods would be if 1. A mod quit or 2. If it's the Mod elections
However closing miscellanious will not be a good idea, as it is a source of inspiration for a lot of us (Even the spammy ones!)
@Spritemaster: 5 posts a week? Are you serious? If that was implemented the Scratch Community would drop a considerable amount, meaning that Scratch won't be as popular for people that like to discuss things while programming!

I don't normally use the Misc. page. I don't really get what it's for. I mean, topics not about Scratch? That doesn't make sense. The whole point of the forums is to talk about Scratch! I think I agree, but if Misc. closed, some Scratchers may be sad. My suggestion is that if Misc. closes, we have some new things on the index that people could post stuff that they may have posted on Misc., but it isn't spam. Like, one called Polls, so Scratchers can get other Scratchers opinion to use on projects, or just for fun. And/or one called something like, Meet & Greet or Get to Know Your Fellow Scratchers where you can get to know your peers on Scratch. Like my idea?

The Misc. forum is for stuff that is NON SCRATCH RELATED. If you don't like it, don't go there. If you want a forum for the sort of Misc that YOU want, then make a new forum, don't close the old one. That's my only request. Not to close the old one. I don't care if you make a flying rabbit, or a new Misc forum, or another freaking site.

Stricter guidelines=no need.
Plus, it's not a huge deal. I know some people say everything that's happening, accurate for every second, but I feel miscellaneous makes us grow closer together as a community.
Where will we talk about our favorite cartoons and animes? Where will we talk about our vacations, laughs, and fails? We need another choice besides projects. We need misc.
Definitely. I <3 misc. I can't tell you how many conversations I have had on misc, how many friends I have met there. It's a place to talk about foolishness. And we need foolishness. I enjoy it more than any other topic, plus the misc. ideas would just end up in "Advanced Topics", and I think it would be annoying for a lot of people.
