I heard it's being launched tomorrow (http://www.facebook.com/stencyl), based on Scratch (http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=63785), and it used to use Java (http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/706099/game-development-toolset-stencyl-making-the-big-leap-towards-flash/). If you've used it, what do you think? Can you put games on the web?

I'm certainly trying it. I don't think it will be as good as Scratch

Scratch is fun and all, but I really want to try creating games in Flash! Flash is professional compared to Scratch (no offense) but with little Scratch experience you can create games quickly. And Scratch is easy to understand too!

Scratch Rules!!!
Sorry for the extra exclamation marks... But really, Scratch is great but I'm not going to say anything about Stencyl until I try it. Sure Flash is all professional but is it free? At least Stencyl is, which is why I'm looking forward to trying it.
P.S. I will never stop SCRATCHING!!!
P.P.S. Sorry for the extra exclamation marks...

Stencyl is free. I don't know about Flash... I pretty sure you have to pay for it. And I agree, Scratch is da best, but I think Stencyl will be really cool too!

I find it really hard to use.

Really? In what way? Is it different or similar to Scratch?

Interesting. The platform that is first to utilize web services of some kind (JSON is easiest, probably) will win for me, because I can then use it to communicate with my game server and create a (massive) multiplayer.

Have fun trying that
Anyway, I love how you can code in AS and in blocks. Really helpful. Can't wait, it even has Kongregate connect! So making an epic space shooter or a cyber adventure or a steampunk battle game.

I beta tested it.
It was good, and I'll probably continue to use it, but scratch is the best.

How can New Scratchers post in Misc.? Is this some new update?

Saw it on Kongregate

uninstalled
really wanted it again
found out its closed beta
I only read you wanted my game after I read your post properly:
Daragon Run My SWF without any pesky things. I found a way to extract it from kong.
Heads up, these are my possible usernames for any website:
RuneLite
Gveradux
Gveraduxal
TornFusion
Servinee

Stencyl is based on Scratch.
When I signed up it said scratch gave them permission to use the blocks, but to be honest they don't even make sense anyway. It once said:
(bullet (sound))
