No, sorry, this kind of thread is not allowed. Random conversations and chatroom thread are discouraged around here, regardless on whether the user is a New Scratcher or a regular Scratcher.

Aside from that, we want New Scratchers to show that they can be part of the Scratch community first before getting the privilege to post in Miscellaneous, so random posts don't look so good for them. It's best if you encourage New Scratchers to be active in the forums in some other way, such as helping out other Scratchers, giving feedback on suggestions, or viewing projects in Show and Tell.
