Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

I'm REAAALLLLLY backed up at the moment with science fair and other commitments, but I could eventually help with animation, etc. if need be.

You are correct. But don't worry, I will probably do one other collaborative project like this in the future. Also, feel free to share your ideas for the game.

Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

This is the first minigame i made.

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JSOlabs/317247

Some sort of pong.
This frame can be reused, for as many games as you want. (you will only need one "mg frame" sprite and one "mg stage" sprite. I'll update soon.

The minigames can be started and closed by a broadcast, and you can drag the frame. You can turn this off by disabling the drag feature in the sprite options.

Have fun,
Joren

Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

Wow guys I just found something pretty interesting.

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/technoguyx/314292

It seems like this guy took a look at the post I made on the first page and tried to takes ideas from it. He has the creativity and intelligence stats, and you can do art or math work to improve them. I like the project but ours will be better.

He just responded to one of my comments and said that he made it up himself without looking at this thread. And I thought I had such an original idea  tongue

I asked him if he could join the collab. If he does, he will probably be helping me with the main game programming since he already has a basic foundation of the game.

Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

I finished my video game!

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Bobby500/318099

It is a skeet shoot game taht has the potential to get scores in if you want. Look in the code because I put comments. It is the exact same format as JSO's was. Pretting much you just shoot at the targets that fly by.  Hope it works well enough!

Finished my minigame:

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Dan01/318258

Its a snake game, basically explains it self. Very similar to Bug on a Plate. Same layout as the other two.

Ok look at the post I made in the first page and try to incorporate the things I talked about into your scratch sim. You already deserve some credit since I will try to use some of your ideas that you used in your scratch sim.

I am going to recreate your scratch sim with the same graphics, but better coding. I like your idea of buying items that increase stats, I hadn't thought about that.

I will then use that to build off of.

If you want you can come up with new ideas and try to program them into your version.

I will probably work on it on the weekend since I have so much homework this week  sad

Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

If you want me to, I could do some graphics too.

I think it would be cool if  we used the images from the scratch website. The grey and blue boxes, message banner, navigation bar etc. I have a whole collection (for the scratchresources layout  big_smile  )

I like technoguyx's project, but i think we should split up the interface. Your scratch programming experience could be shown at the "scratch computer", the socializing scores like lovits a day or features, ... could be shown on the website etc.

How wil the minigames be used?

I have a few idea for the minigames, there could be an arcade you play them at, you could play them on the scratch website, or you could play them on your desktop computer.

I am so sorry I can't work this week. I have a big essay due tomorrow and a test Friday. I will make a version of the sim on the weekend.

Re: The scratch simulator collaboration

Here's another minigame we could use:

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Dan01/319271

Also; we could use the banner at the top of the page, switching support for minigames.
