Yeah, I never understood that either. I don't think "happy" is a good way to describe the day with which we remember those who have died in military service. "Happy Birthday", "Happy Thanksgiving", "Happy Valentine's Day", certainly those are easy to comprehend the "Happy" behind it, but "Happy Memorial Day" sounds kind of strange to me.

I agree with Cheddagirl. Memorial Day is when we honor those who have died in the military in the USA if you didn't know.
