Story time!
I once went skiing in Vermont, USA, we were on our final run down this slope with a half pipe and a huge jump at the end. I usually go up and down the half pipe then go around the jump, because it's huge and menacing. This time it was snowing really hard, so while I'm going on the half-pipe snow is building up on my goggles, which I don't notice. I finish the half-pipe, and suddenly the ground falls away; with my eyes almost covered I didn't know that I'd actually gone up the jump and soared off it.
Went fifteen to twenty feet in the air, (can't remember how high), landed on my back on a sheet of ice and smashed my sternum. I couldn't breathe at all for a few minutes and was afraid I'd suffocate. Got to the hospital, spent a week doing painful exercises to heal it and start walking again, and I'm good as new. They told me my helmet buckle was what hit my sternum and fractured it, but if I wasn't wearing a helmet I could've broken my neck. Yikes.
which is why you wear a helmet

I actually heard lots of kids screaming and yelling in the lobby, it wasn't pleasant, but I ignored it. And I actually had a chance to get a 3DS in the hospital, but I wanted to do reviews on it before I got it, and it turns out you had to charge it too much, and the games were too expensive, but I got this Xbox game called Blur in replacement of the chance of getting the 3DS

Whoa! I'd have had the 3DS, it sounds kinda cool!

I saw lots of terrifying stuff really, and the nurses on the ward were as useful as my pinky toe. They were trying to find out where my vein was (they gave me freeze gel, but the op was postponed by 9 HOURS so it wore off) and I looked away and all I could hear was them saying 'Darn, where is it? No, go up a bit. No, wrong vein. Come on!'
It took them like 2 minutes to fix it up and there was no pain relief :S
And I could here this kid choking all night... D:What were they doing with your vein..?
*pokepokepoke* dont worry we almost have it *pokepokepoke* no really we're nurses *pokepokepoke* the vein has to be here somewhere *pokepokepokepoke* not that one and so on

Hmm, would you consider falling 30 feet off a tree near death... because, I mean, I hit branches along the way that slowed my fall the tiniest bit. Still, barely anything was injured except my chest hurt for the day and my leg was injured the rest of the summer. (Yet no cast, I just stood on one leg for the summer... or crawled. >.<)
Edit: Also, what about in first grade being next to an 8th grader when he punted a football across the field, instead hitting my chest? (He was two feet away!)

Most likely... but then how do brain surgeries work? I think it would depend on what part he touched- the central part where all the breathing stuff- dead. But a part that contains memory or something like that? Might cause brain damage, but kill? I doubt he touched his own brain. The human brain is the size of two adult fists pressed together is located in the center of the human head and is surrounded by a massive amount of protective stuff along with the skull. I'm not sure you could touch it. Brain damage takes A LOT. I don't know, I don't know a ton about medical stuff.

All right.
It was totally black, and I got this feeling I was climbing a dark staircase. There was a light at the very top, I was almost there when I was revived by my friend. No one really knows about it, I just didn't think about it much before. I was like in this in-between world...

I have these flashbacks from when I was little about weird things like one time I almost drowned and one time this kid ran into me and my head hit the concrete and I got knocked out for like 10 minutes and a lot of other strange things.

That is just plain AWESOME. Not the fact that you could have died, but the fact that you went into this sort of afterlife. I always wonder about the afterlife.
