New Missile Command-style single person game

I've got a new single-person, mouse control game where you protect 4 "monuments" from falling meteors.

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Wyrlwynd/1804588

You use the mouse to target and eliminate the meteors (just point and click to fire) and reload using the space bar.

Points are awarded according to how fast each meteor is falling as well as how high up it is when you destroy it.  Additionally, bonus targets appear offering extra points if destroyed.

The game ends when either your cannon is destroyed or if all 4 monuments are destroyed.

I've tested out a few different ways of ramping up the difficulty (speed of the meteors), but I'm looking for more feedback regarding possible ways to make the game challenging but not impossible, so any comments about gameplay difficulty and suggestions about ways to manage it better would be appreciated.

Also simply posting your high score and strategy as a comment will help me structure the game's next version to keep the gameplay fresh.

Thanx in advance for checking it out and offering your thoughts.
