It's quite annoying, especially in signatures with the 400 character rule.
Can it be removed?
EDIT: Since no-one really understood what I wanted, let me explain some more:
If you type [url]wiki.scratch.mit.edu[/url], you get a link to http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/ because it adds the HTTP protocol automatically. If it actually outputted:Code:
wiki.scratch.mit.eduIt would think you are trying to link to http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/wiki.scratch.mit.edu (which doesn't exist
).
What I want is to have the same thing with images. If the protocol isn't specified, it assumes HTTP.
Now do you get it?

Images are located on websites and can only be called up with the http:// protocol. Just trust me- it's necessary for images.

But for links, it just adds it into the source. Why not for images too?

Something tells me it would be harder to change this than it's worth. I know it's seven characters, but that's really not that much unless you have a lot of images (as I see you do) or are trying to squeeze a lot of text in.

Oh, I see your predicament there. You're 15 characters over the limit, and not having to use the http:// would put you under the limit. I think you've got other things to worry about though: it looks to me as though that's over the 150px height limit.

I think it is an abbreviation for some guy's last name and then they stuck a "p" on the end for protocol. Anyways, it is neccessary for images. Sorry. You might be able to contact the Scratch team and tell them of your problem and hope that they might allow you to have a few more characters for your sig.

Actually, http means hyper text transfer protocol.
