Have you tried Scratch in 3D (StarLogo TNG)?

It's a little-known program called StarLogo TNG, created by MIT STEP. It allows you to create 3D games!
I made a wolf in a fully-painted and bumpy landscape with mountains  big_smile
You use the arrow keys to navigate around the 3D world!

It's free (like Scratch) though you have to sign up to download.

It's frankly, AMAZING.

You GOTTA TRY IT!

Find out more here!

Discuss whether or not you have heard of it and if you have it, what have you made with it?

Warning: It's fairly complicated to start with - SO MANY TABS  yikes

I have downloaded it and not spent much time with it.

I agree - Scratch has more possibilities, but the fact that it is all 3D is quite remarkable  big_smile

Re: Have you tried Scratch in 3D (StarLogo TNG)?

Starlogo TNG is more for simulations than games from what I've heard, but like a year ago I made some simple driving games for the lulz  tongue

Oh but that was like in version 1.2 or 1.3, now they're in 1.5 which implements some new features that might be pretty useful like textured terrain and ULing projects to a site  big_smile

I am happy with the blender game engine. Oh, and with Scratch, of course  big_smile

I was just going to post a topic about this! Yes, I have. It's harder to use than Scratch.

Re: Have you tried Scratch in 3D (StarLogo TNG)?

I am downloading, looks like Alice only a bit simpler...

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

It is a bit better than Alice in some ways. Though Alice seems much more advanced.
BTW, how do you get a hat block on StarLogo?

Do you need an account to view other projects?  Because I can't seem to view any.

I tried it a couple of years ago, I wouldn't describe is as Scratch in 3D.

Alice advanced, Alice good, it's laughable.

It's slow and clunky, even my dad who TEACHES computer programming (so don't call it too advanced for him) thinks so.

I hate Alice, too babyish-looking. And really hard to make smooth movement. :S

@kiley - I think you have to make an account.

@pecola1 - Try a tutorial, like the paintball one. It'll show you ^^

It never worked on my computer. It just wouldn't run. It would start up and then close out.

Try 1.2. 1.5 does the same with me.
