I suggest you keep the java option up as it seems to please quite a couple people.
Why?
It makes it easier if you dont have flash
Or if flash is not behaving good for a particular project...

Scratch is faster with this feature.

i personally like the old player better the new one takes forever to load and on some projects the new player makes the quality of picture pixiley

bias. Don't flame someones opinion. I personally feel that each one works better with some projects. Just like some games work better on Windows than they do on a Mac. Scratch on!

I think it is a great addition and makes projects run a lot faster. I also enjoyed the inclusion of a Full Screen mode. Now I don't have to download a Scratch game to play in full screen. Thanks and I hope this beta goes as a full time part of the Scratch website.

it's awesome but the fullscreen doesn't work for me. it just shows half of the project.

This new flash player works a heck of a lot more smoothly than the old java player, and the graphics look better too. also, the full screen option addition is really nice, and all the better as it wasn't there in the java player. It's awesome.

The fullscreen is awesome for most of the current SDS projects!

Some sprites seem over-pixelated occasionally.

Uh.... It's just a .gif.
There's no .swf to it.

when a sprite is flipped to one side the costume centre doesn't flip with it, at least when I played these:

When they face left and are animated you can see that they jutter in flash but not in java player
