If I was 17, and I wanted a car, I would never think of getting one in a COMMERCIAL.
Sure, commercials can show you what cool video games are coming out as an example.
Commercials are infomercials that OVER-EXAGGERATE. No, I don't want a new bike Barbie. No, not some weird new BALL THAT BOUNCES. Sure, they might not be targeted for my age group, but COME ON. No one wants string that bends.
I almost have never bought something that had a commercial.
The only thing I think they're useful for is when new episodes for shows are. (for inconsistent shows)
This isn't a duplicate of "Fail Commercials". This is just commercials.
Discuss.

DVR or a Tivo. That way you don't ever have to see them.
There is too many of them now. Way too many.

Has anyone noticed how much Cave Johnson sounds like Billy Mays? Anyway, I like to laugh at how stupid they get. Then get annoyed because I want my show back on.
Record it, that's the easiest way. BUT YES I AGREE...ohyes

I strongly dislike commercials, so I just don't watch things that have them.
They're such a waste of time!
I used to watch more commercial TV, and I must've seen thousands of car commercials. But in the average human lifetime, how many cars can one buy? All that money, time, and energy that goes into making all those commercials just seems like a huge waste.
Just my opinion though - I guess some people like 'em.

I agree on the car thing.

They make Squinkies Boys now. >.<
I don't think anybody's gonna buy them because all of the boys thought Squinkies sucked when they were still for girls.
I'm still looking for someone who actually has those.

Same with the Proactiv face wash stuff. It works, but they give you the mask free on ANY commercial, and it says "call right now!" but it does it on every commercial. I've seen the proactiv commercial since I was about 7. I actually tried it and it actually worked.

On some, it goes up 50%. And when you have a home theater system as your main speakers, it can be quite loud.
This is why I internet everything. Even then there are ads, but less of them.

Without commercials, your favorite TV shows wouldn't have enough money to stay on the air. That's how TV lives, through commercials.

I watch commercials and laugh at how silly/cheesy/inaccurate they are XD

still disagreein'. What they SHOULD do is all make websites, then have no-sound ads on all of them!

TV channels can earn money without ads. Like the BBC, it doesn't have ads.
FUN FACT 2: There are actually some channels which are commercials. Every program is people advertising useless objects.

I'm not really swayed too much from TV commercials. I usually end up using the commercial time to grab a fruit snack from the fridge.
Come to think of it, the only time when I was influenced to buy something due to a commercial was when I was in the Philippines and I needed to buy toilet paper.

It's called calling actual fruit a snack!
Disney's commercials are ALL for their shows, but then you watch them, then you buy products based on them and they end up staying alive . . .

The average TV viewer:
*sees TV ad for a random product*
"Man, that ad is so CHEESY! Why do people even BUY that stuff?"
*buys product anyway*

Yeah, but if I don't know when a show is coming on, it DOES inform me. Not that any of Disney's shows are good now that Suite Life is gone, That was the only DECENT one.
