UPDATE: Kk, that one was, and I'll admit it, a confusing one. Let my mind invent a simpler one for you: Chairs are like people. They fall to pieces if they don't "stand up" for themselves. ...yeah that sucked.

You don't expect something respectfully, you do it respectably, whatever that means. Plus, why will we be respectably expected if we expect to be respected?
