I had suggested this back in 2007, and andresmh said that the Scratch Team was planning something like it, but they never responded. So, I am suggesting it again
I think there should be youth clubs on Scratch. Clubs for certain age groups that, depending on the age group(higher age group=more advanced aspects), the club will work together as a group and release a project with a different theme each month. Each month, all the clubs will have the same theme, so you can see as the age group gets higher, the projects progressively get more advanced.
This would be good for users because...
1. When members collaborate, if one has more experience, he/she can teach the others how to do something. This way, a lot of knowledge is spread between others just by making projects.
2. This is a good opportunity for users to learn how to collaborate. By collaborating each month, users learn new ideas, and can get a lot of knowledge just from observing.
3. It's just fun. You can see how different age groups think differently, and you can see how they take an idea and make it theirs. The members themselves get a lot of experience and get to make projects with different users that they may not know.
If you want to support this idea, put this in your signature:

Feedback and Ideas Greatly Appreciated
