g-man isn't gordon freeman's dad
that is absurd

and its not like gordon is the only person the g-man talks to, he appears in opposing force, and eli talks about him in episode 2 as "our mutual friend"

g-man is another term for government-man, so he might just be part of the government

of the universe

If you really think about it, G-Man saved Gordon a few times. By putting him into stasis, he protected him from the Combine and their invasion of Earth. He also gives Gordon advice(usually vague) several times. And one last detail; in Source SDK, the comment section for G-Man says, ""// Purpose: The G-Man, misunderstood servant of the people." If Gordon is trying to save all human life, and G-Man is helping him, he is serving the people.
The G-Man COULD'NT be Gordon's dad. Otherwise Gordon would eat physics for breakfast. I've also heard people say he's Gordon from the future. That couldn't be true, because 1) Where's Gordon's beard? And 2) He doesn't have glasses.

They say it's him from the future , because they have the same coloured eyes and his name spells out kind of G(ordan) (free)man , G-man hmm I don't believe in that theory either, but Aperture is more heavily involved in the story than you guys think wink

But either way, it will cause too many "ripples", basically putting both of them in a never-ending paradox. So it is definitely not Gordon from the future.

G-man is not Gordon Freeman, because first of all, he's a mute, and second, why would G-man kill himself? (In the end of the first game you had a choice to work with him, if you refused he sent you in the middle of a bunch of baddies.)
I just think he's from the government. But if he is, did he ever visit Aperture Science? I mean, they spent all their money to get moon rocks.
