File linking and text boxes

I would like to suggest two things to add to Scratch 2.0:

1. A way to insert audio and image files into your project from the internet, as opposed to only being able to use files on your computer.

2. A block that, instead of "saying" or "asking" something as a speech bubble that isn't realy text, gives you a question, answer, or statement in a pop-up bubble that contains text that can be copied and pasted.

Please consider these ideas--thanks.  smile

Re: File linking and text boxes

#2 would be really nice, and I can see a lot of possible applications for it. However, I would disagree with #1. Linking to files online may be too confusing for many, and I also wouldn't want to have to be connected to the internet to run a project.

Re: File linking and text boxes

You're right about having to be connected to the internet, that might be kind of a pain. But if there was somehow a way to get the files from the internet--without saving them to your computer--and not have to be connected...I don't think there is, though.

Also @scimonster: The bold red text is something I've always done on all the forums I visit. I like using text formatting because it distinguishes my posts from others'. I would be using the Courier font as well, but this forum doesn't support the [font] tag, lol.

Ace-Of-Hearts talks in red text, which I find quite annoying. So I don't like her.

What's so annoying about styled text? On other forums I go to, just about everyone types in a color other than the default.

Hopefully my typing in color won't make you dislike me as well.  tongue

Also, whaaaaat? She has no projects?

Actually it's the bright red I dislike; it gives me headaches. Your red is fine.
