The SAPOScratch is an educational program that results from a partnership between Portugal Telecom and the MIT of Boston University, USA, held in November 2008.

This is an innovative program that allows you to exercise creativity and scientific reasoning, logical and mathematician, to provide simplified computer programming tools, which can be developed projects. Offline projects are developed through an application and the site allows you to share, learn and ask questions with the community of users.

The Scratch is a learning tool that allows users from the first cycle to develop their skills interactively and playful and is therefore a powerful contribution to the educational development of new generations supported in access to new technologies.

This is the first agreement of the genus in that the MIT licensing exploration of Scratch for another country than the USA. The Portugal Telecom is now the responsibility of bringing this program to Portugal and all the countries of Portuguese expression where the PT group has presence.

I think all it is is Scratch for Portuguese, but cant the English scratch change to Portuguese?

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

It looks like it's meant for 3 year olds. Especially with the creepy frog thing.

Wikipedia says there are independent sites for Portugal and United Arab Emirates. I'm not sure about the Scratch Team's thoughts on that and why.

Lol?

Are they crazy? Who made that site? I'm going to tell MIT to sue the creator unless it was made by a MIT member.

EDIT: I just contacted Scratch, because it's weird to see 2 Scratch sites.

Relax!  The Scratch Team has been partnering with this group in Portugal to build a Scratch Website for Portuguese kids.  It's interesting that the appearance makes some of you feel that it's aimed at a younger audience - I'm not sure if that was their intent.

If this Portuguese Scratch is not meant to be for little kids, tell them to change the creepy frog (looks like the frog from those old Leapfrog reader things) and change the title colouring.

Rainbows and frogs won't be popular with teens, I'm sure  tongue

Re: What is this... a Scratch for younger kids?

When you download it is just scratch with Portuguese file names and an extra emoticon file for costumes. (with MORE creepy frogs)
