We really don't mind closing it! At the moment, there's really nothing else for me to do.

The problem with this idea is that I fear somebody will close a topic for there having been an argument, rather than calling a moderator over. And we may never see what happens, even if it's ridiculously horrible. Also, it'd be pretty hard to code this into PunBB. And all that, for something that can easily be done in a few minutes by a moderator?

Says it all. I didn't even think someone might close it because of an argument. Sometimes it takes a moderator to see what we can't.  tongue
Once I saw a mod leave a topic open for discussion, even though it was asked to be closed.  This is it.

What's the problem with it? We could just close our own threads, yet we can't reopen, like if a moderator closed it due to spam.

we should b able 2 reopen if WE close it.

Thats what I was saying. If a mod closes it, then we wouldn't be able to re-open it.

Re: Be able to close your own topics

This forum is the only forum that i have seen without you being able to close your own topics.
This place is the best place to share projects.
This idea is a must.

Yes. I also had a thread that wasn't closed when I asked, but without a moderator explaining.

Sometimes, topics may not be suited for closing, and we don't always explain why.

The problem is, this is a PunBB forums, and so it won't be that easy to give people (maybe just scratchers, not new scratchers?) close/reopen ability.

You have to put

Code:

around forum blocks... *facepalm*

Anyway, if I haven't supported already, I support.
