Security Update-* Posted

There has been some recent sexually-explicit content uploaded, I REALLY THINK that the scratch site should have some security upgrade of some kind to screen projects or something, there are kids on this site! This has got to stop, anyone agree?

Re: Security Update-* Posted

I have come across some pretty nasty stuff as well.

But the sad truth is, we can have filter after filter, put these people will still find ways to get past them.

Maybe if an explicit project is posted, the user gets a warning through the Message system, and if it happens again, ban their IP.

Re: Security Update-* Posted

That is a good idea, but yes, the truth is that they will find a way. I don't even think there should be a warning, just a complete ban and removal of the project

I believe that is the current policy.  There really isn't any feasible way to filter out objectionable content other than to have people look at it and flag it.  There was talk awhile back about establishing a Scratch website that would only have content that had been approved by responsible parties.  I wonder what happened to that initative?

Re: Security Update-* Posted

Maybe they though that they didn't have time to or something, and just let people upload projects, but the thing is, I wonder if there is another way? Another possible way that they could develop or are devoloping a system to make it so that it's not that people LOOK at it and flag it, maybe there would be trusted users over 18 or something approving projects, like having a user approving from number-number

Re: Security Update-* Posted

Maybe there could be...but until there is, make sure that you use the Flag as Inappropriate option to Flag those projects.  If a certain number of people flag it, it will be removed immediatly and reviewed by the Scratch Team.

Re: Security Update-* Posted

Someone needs to contact the scratch team before they do anything else. I guess I should do it.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Oh. I should still contact them, but first I'll see if they haven't been banned already.

Well, if twenty-five people contact them, then they'll be more likely to believe it if only two or three do.

Re: Security Update-* Posted

I haven't seen anything yet... just dress-up games (dress up vanessa hudgens, etc. There were a lot of people saying don't flag this please it's just a dress up game). If There are any that are deliberately obscene or whatever, not just some scientific thing or something like that, I will flag it. some are innocent though. I don't know
