I think it's supposed to start on Christmas Island. It's about 9:00 AM there.

Yeah, the IDL is kinda in the middle.
WAit, by that logic, it should hit NZ last, not first, it being on the other side of the date line.
Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it would hit just short of the eastern tip of Russia last.

Agreed, nothing will happen.

It's 2:00 pm in the latest time zone (12 hours ahead of GMT).  So four hours left until the ultimatum.
