New Scratcher tips!

Some tips for New Scratchers who have already downloaded Scratch.

    1. Being a "New Scratcher" means, as the name suggests, that you are new and/or only joined recently. Scratchers are promoted manually so be patient an keep on Scratching! Some things New Scratchers can't do are listed.
They can't edit or delete their own posts.
They can't post at all in in the Miscellaneous forum.
        They can't post images
They can't post clickable links unless they are to pages on the Scratch Website
They chan't have the 360 second posting rule, rather than the 60 second          posting rule that Scratchers have.
This is to prevent spamming.
They cannot have signatures either. The reason being:

Commercial spammers like to use signatures for their activities, because signatures cannot be flagged as inappropriate, and are not marked as "new" when they are updated. It's very hard for the Community Moderators and the Scratch team to find & delete inappropriate signatures.

So you can only have a personalized signature once you've earned the Scratcher title.
For more information about New Scratchers look at the Scratch Wiki.

to learn more, they might be basic, but did you start math class in algebra?  tongue

    3. Always test your programs in "presentation mode" before uploading them. This enables you to play the game/whatever without changing it and to give you a experience of what the game will be like online. Get to it by pressing the easle button in the top-right corner.

    4. Keep on Scratching! Explore all of the web page and look at the Scratch Wiki for more help regarding Scratch
also for info on the Scratch Wiki go to the Scratch Wiki page for the Scratch Wiki!  big_smile

to get to the Wiki click on the "support" button on the bar on top page. Scroll down and find the picture of the Spherical Scratch jigsaw puzzle to the left of that, is a link for the Scratch Wiki

Keep on Scratchin'!

Re: New Scratcher tips!

Great tips, especially since you link to the wiki. Why haven't they fixed that glitch that New Scratchers can't link to *.scratch.mit.edu?
