This is like Y2K, you know? People are saying the end of the world is coming all the time. How do we know this isn't another hoax?

Yeah. There isn't actually much CO2 in England right now, but it will grow and soon everyone will come to England.

Does anyone actually believe this? I personally don't. I mean, they even said zombies will overrun the earth.
Those who died unsaved will be raised up as well, but only to have their lifeless bodies scattered about the face of all the earth. Death will be everywhere.
Also, where do they get their dates? They just say that something happened in a year, but don't say how they know this.
wait..... isn't that scratch day
OMG! scratch is ending the world oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES!

If that is true I will be unhappy. That's five days before my birthday, and I want my presents before the end of the world.
What's the point of getting presents if you're just gonna die anyway?

I hate that the people who started this rumour brought religion into it. They say it says so in the Bible, but in the Bible it says Jesus will come like a thief in the night.

I don't believe this, but I think it's kind of scary how everyone does. Yesterday I saw a car advertising the May 21st Judgment Day thing... It must be emberassing to drive around a car advertising the end of the world after it doesn't happen.
What's really ironic is that I'm going to a big nerf war on May 21st. At the war we will make plans for the biggest nerf war in the state, and the nerf war's name is Armageddon. Weird...imnotbob wrote:

In this case, we would know if it happened, because we're not actually going to die. The good people disappear and go to Heaven, and the bad people get left behind on Earth. Then the world will start to end and it will be over by October 21st, 2011. That's what he said on the radio.

in 100 years the world WILL DIE if we don't make a serious response to climate change and global warming. 50 years time, run out of fossil fuels, 100 hundred: man can't do anything due to lack of food and disease.
No offence, but... Global warming doesn't exist! Pollution exists, but it's not going to destroy the world - not anytime soon anyway.
xD Advertising the end? Lol, sounds like a puplicity stunt to me.
These people are apart of stupid religious cults. The same man predicted the world would end in 2000, 1984, 2004, and now & 2012.
Everyone, stop scaring people and just shh and stop predicting ridiculous things that have not been proved and there is no facts to it.
END OF STORY.

Yeah. Basically everyone, the 2011 part comes from this.
The great flood was according to the bible in 4990 BC. God said something about doing something similar a week later, but in another bible verse it states that one day is as a thousand years. So you get seven thousand years. They subtracted 4990, got 2010, but then had to add one since they're is no 0 AD. That makes 2011. I forget how you get the date exactly, but it makes moderate sense.
However, according to Matthew 25:13, 'Nobody can predict the day or the hour' which is refering to judgement day.

You have your dates all wrong. May 21st is the day 5 months befor the world ends

But May 21st is Scratch day. Scratch will take over the universe and you can then program 3d objects into real-life!

I thought it would be 5 billion years, or until that volcano spreads lava. Anyway, it'll take a long time before it reaches England, and it might not even reach it.
Actually, the lava wouldn't spread that far. Sure, it would completely destroy Wyoming, but would probably cause the apocalypse would be that huge clouds of dust and ash would blot out the sky, shutting down air travel, causing mass pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, and setting off an ice age.

I didn't know that anyone else knew what pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis meant.

@Alternatives: That's what I was trying to say when I said how the world would end. I don't believe it. I was just telling what he said.

But not May 21. The Bible says no one will have seen it coming.

I just recently read that the people who believe this are fundamentalist Christians, meaning they are extreme in their beliefs.
There is no proof it will come on saturday. For all we know it could happen tomorrow.
But whether or not it will happen soon, I always know that John 3:16 said:
"God so loves the world that he gave his only begotten son, and that whoever believes in him shalt not perish, but have eternal life in heaven."

I found out why guys! THERE ARE 21 REASONS!

Only a few of those reasons in that link are reasonable. But it does have good proof.

Then it would of happened in 2010, but we are in 2011. They added a extra year for a reason that dosen't really matter. AHA!!!

They guy who helped pope Gregory come up with the calendar screwed up by 4 year anyway. If this May 21 mumbo jumo has any credibility, it will be in 2015.
(This is why Jesus was actually, using our current (Gregorian) timescale, born in 4 BC. Not 1 AD.)

It looks like this dude is just making up numbers anyway.
