Can't find previous projects after updating to 1.4.
I did backup the project folder (c:Program Files\Scratch\Projects) but even then did not actually see the Project files that we had created (just the default projects).
Kids spent many, many hours creating these great projects. Help please!

Hmm... did you check the exact file you saved these projects in?

Maybe they could have been overwritten. Do not uninstall Scratch to upgrade, just run the installer over the old version. Uninstalling it will remove all projects in the C:\PathToScratch (often Program Files)\Scratch\Projects folder (Scratch can be installed in other places).
If this is not the case, someone else could have done it.
I don't know what else could have happened. Maybe a hard drive error?
Did you know, Scratch creates a folder in your documents automatically for Scratch Projects? It's in C:\PathToYourUserFolder (often Users\Your Username)\Documents\Scratch Projects.

I think Scratch 1.4 stores and looks for projects in a different place than older versions... when I got 1.4, I panicked until I found out
Have you tried downgrading back to 1.3? You could use that to check if your projects are still there.

When I ran the installer I wasn't asked if I wanted the old version removed. It did run an uninstaller package automatically. I've searched the hard drive for names of the projects and nothing comes up.
One odd thing was that when I backed up the Projects folder I could not see any projects through windows explorer. I could see them if I looked at the same directory through the scratch interface as if they were hidden files that only Scratch could see.
I may try downgrading to the earlier version if nothing else works.
I appreciate everyone's input. Let me know if I'm still overlooking something.
