Cool! I don't want to get into this very deeply, but do you guys think this planet could be our key to finally confirming how life can be formed for basically nothing?

Meaning there is no reason for this planet?

No...I mean we've never settled on a theory for how life formed. We can never know for sure from looking at Earth, but if this planet is currently developing life, we might be able to see how it really happens.

Some people (me) beg to differ, but that might turn this thread into a religious flamewar so...

NO. NOT EVOLUTION. EVOLUTION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW LIFE BEGAN. Well, at least not in the context that most people think of it. No one knows how life started. Evolution is a theory on how life DEVELOPS not on how it FIRST FORMED/CAME TO EARTH. Sorry, but it always erks me when someone automatically assumes that evolution is about the formation of life instead of the developement of life.

Look what wikipedia says:
Because of its mass, at least 5.6 times that of Earth, the planet is classified as a super-Earth.

Pff... water. Big surprise. It's just oxegen and hydrogen mixed together. Yippe.
Dude, do you have any idea how important water is? Or how significant it is? It's the basis for a ton of chemistry, energy, and most of all, life. Please tell me you were being sarcastic.
