@earthboundjeff: I do not hate his music specifically. I do dislike it. But what I really dislike what music like this has done to my beloved metal.  Now, if you asked someone at my school who AC/DC or Guns 'n Roses are, they would be clueless. Let me explain:

young people liking pop=young people not liking metal=no demand for metal in young people=no more metal bands will be signed because the demand will die out.

I can't spend my entire life listening to records made 30 years before I was born.

D:-! Duran Duran my favorite band changed to meet the demand! On no! I like metal pop and of that they used to have lots! But now they have to play different music just to stay on the road. |D':-

I think you nailed it - movies are all about making money.  They cost a lot of money to make and the producers want to see a return on their investment.  So right now JB is hot...and now is the time to make a movie.  There is no fairness involved - it's business and they've been doing it with pop singers for years.  Anybody remember "Help" or "Yellow Submarine"?

So let's stop beating up on JB and recognize that fame is fleeting and the movie makers  know that.  Wait a couple of years and it will be somebody else.
