Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

This would be a good idea, because, if someone spams the forum topic, you would not have to keep pressing Report. Or, if someone starts an arguement, you could just press delete.
(NOTE: If you just posted in the topic, you can not moderate it.)
(Another NOTE: This suggestion will NOT allow you to moderate other topics, OR promote other people.)
Do you guys like it?

Re: Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

I support this idea. It will help with thread management.

Another thing to add: When someone has made threads, their ranking is changed to "Thread Moderator" only for those threads.

Also, thread moderating should only be for people above New Scratcher.

Re: Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

I thought of this once, but I think it could be useful, but possibly used for evil. It would mean a user could take off what they don't like people saying, they could edit others posts to make them look bad etc. It should be limited, only deleting posts (possibly), moving the topic, deleting the topic, and closing/resurrecting their topic. If they could close the topic for everyone but them, that would be useful. And no new scratchers.

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

This is the problem I see. It might make things easier on the mods, but that is their job, and some people might change or remove posts unfairly.

I don't agree with this idea. It would be more likely to cause problems than to remove spam.

Re: Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

Moderators would have little use if this were implemented  tongue

This could be abused; for example, posts against a suggestion could be removed to make it look good, and editing other people's posts should certainly stay restricted.

Yes, this would be fine.

It could be a disadvantage if the wrong people use it... but otherwise, I guess I support.  smile

I strongly disagree, because this featured is not probably going to get abused, but certainly.

The only point I might be happy with is the closing (not opening) own threads (as well as renaming threads after 5 minutes).

Re: Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

I think if the person had moderator privledges on his own forum topic and not on anyone else's and if the privledges were limited, I think this is a good idea.

Re: Let us be moderators on our own forum topics

If the user can not edit, or delete others posts, this is a VERY good suggestion, I VOTE FOR IT!
