i dont get why you would lose your job since Obama won.

And why do you think McCain has a clue of how to be president? he's never even been a vice president. and if you say that McCain has more experience and foriegn policy or whatever because he was in Vietnam for 5 years, thats not true. he was a prisoner, so he didnt really do anything.

and besides, why do you think the war is good? Obama taking the soldiers out of Iraq is one of the best things he'll do.

also, McCain is raising the taxes, while Obama is lowering them. Well, Obama's tax plan is based on your income, which makes it way more fair.

In Vietnam, McCain did an honorable thing of staying behind while the older captives were returned first- which is not "nothing"

War is never good, but sometimes it's necessary. Iraq may still be unstable, and who knows what may happen if the troops withdraw?

While Obama's income tax plan is good, it has other side effects that will strongly affect businesses.

Everyone on Scratch is not Republican, maybe if there's more Republican's than normal, maybe it's just people on Scratch are more sensible.

Re: Politics

Why do you think Obama has a clue on how to be president?

McCain has 30+ years in Senate
Obama has 2-4 years in Senate

McCain has VOTED on bills
Obama has NOT VOTED on bills

McCain has sponsored bills
Obama has NOT sponsored bills

McCain has been very active, trying to be more neutral with voting, which is very hard as a politician. As for Obama, he has hid and cowered making up excuses so he doesn't have to vote. What? He doesn't like what the bill is? Vote no!

McCain would have been the better choice, being a war vet, having years of experience, and knowing what this country needs. Don't bring up that Bush BS. Bush ran 4 years ago, FYI. Obama was a lawyer for some man in jail for fraud, as you might know, before deciding to run. Wow. Not very productive.

This race was partially won on race, about half on age, and the fact that Bush is a Republican, and Obama ACCUSED McCain of being Bush. Obama, get your head on straight, he ran 4 years ago!

He certainly showed he can manage a campaign...  which, frankly, is a heck of a lot more than McCain showed.

McCain08 wrote:

WRONG!

THE FACTS:  Obama has 7 years in the Illinois State senate (1997-2004) AND 4 years as a US Senator 2004-2008

McCain08 wrote:

THE FACTS: - too numerous to mention, but a list of his voting record can be found here: http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=9490

McCain08 wrote:

WRONG!

THE FACTS:  Obama has sponsored 136 bills since Jan 4, 2005. Two have become law.[2] This figure does not include bills to which Obama contributed very substantially as cosponsor, such as the Coburn-Obama Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 or the Lugar-Nunn Cooperative Proliferation Detection, Interdiction Assistance, and Conventional Threat Reduction Act of 2006. Nor does it include amendments to other bills, although in the Senate these are not required to be germane to the parent bill and can therefore effectively be bills in their own right.[3] Obama has co-sponsored 619 bills during the same time period.

And you are providing us with a perfect example of why McCain/Palin lost.  It was down to their extremely negative campaigning in which they continuously made up lies about Obama, just as you are doing - without the intelligence to realise that these lies can be exposed in seconds by anyone with access to the internet.

In short - people got fed up with the lies, the lies that you perpetuate even now - and they demonstrated they intolerance for these lying liars by voting for the other guy.

First off, a healthy 72 year old has the same chance of dieing in office than a healthy 40 year old. I don't get how you could even for a second! think that age is a factor, when quite clearly it's not.

Sarah Palin, believe it or not, has tons more experience than Obama, yet Obama won this election *shivers*.

Do I need to tell you too? Alright, lemme explain:

Every 4 years, we elect a new president. Now, after 4 years of one president, if that president was in his first term (a term is 4 years), he can run again for his second term. Bush won his second term. 4 years later, if it's your second term, you can't run again for president, which means BUSH WASN'T RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

If you could call McCain bush, I can easily call Obama a terrorist. Not because of his skin, a very tiny bit because his name is Barack Hussein Obama, which sounds oddly like two terrorists names, but because he know a couple terrorists, he was the lawyer for a criminal, and he hates America. So yeah, McCain was Bush, but Bush is better than a terrorist

I know Bush wasn't running for president.
But I thought a term was 5 years? I'm Canadian, terms here are 5 years, and you can run however long you want.
And just because Obama is black doesn't mean he's a terrorist. Honestly, if people are not voting for Obama because he's black, then those people are *really* racist.
Bush is better than a terrorist, but before you say anything else for McCain, think about this: Hitler was elected the Prime Minister of Germany.

I agree with the fact that Age has nothing to do with it. However, Half of all lawyers are for criminals!!! Thats how they make 3 million each year! Just because they are blood-sucking parasites with brief cases doesn't mean they won't make good presidents. Also, the terrorist thing is so fake. He was on a board of education with one guy who later decided to bomb a building. He had nothing to do with it and had no idea that that would have happened. Yeesh, you are starting to believe your own propaganda.

I was for McCain by the way but its too much fun messing with you.  tongue

he he, im not so sure about that. and bobby500 is right. most lawyers are lawyers for criminals.

im sorry but i didnt think scratch was a racist community. like i said a million times before, just because his middle name is Hussein does not mean he is a terrorist! jeez.

and i didnt mean to call McCain bush, sorry if it came out that way, i ment that people didnt vote for mccain because of bush. mccain carried all of the bead stuff bush did just because they both were republicans. i know, they hate each other.

and please, dont state things that arent true. if you really dont know anything about the candidates, dont say anything. scratch is not ment for racist lying people.  thank you.

also, Sarah Palin does not have more experience than Obama. I honestly would rather have my thumb for president than Sarah Palin. she is a complete idiot and knows nothing. please, the only reason McCain chose Palin as his running mate was so he could win over the votes of women. and really she scared away half of america for voting for them.

oh and about the people on scratch being more sensible for voting for mccain, thats more like less sensible. you had a little typo there.  smile

Hold on? Please do your research here. You would find that all my comments are very true. Sarah Palin has 2 years expereince as mayor, 2 as Governor, which is more than you could say for Obama, who has 2-4 years of senate doing literally nothing. He sat there not voted, not hosting bills, not anything! Only smart people would vote for McCain

I'm *? You want Obama! You say we are trillions in debt! Thanks to you, and people like you who voted for him, that trillion is going to turn into quadrobillions. So high of a number I don't know how you would start it! He was the worst possible choice to have as president. he only won because he's black.

Wow, I've provided actual evidence that each of these statements is a lie, in this very thread, and you still repeat them.

I can only assume that your position is one taken because of hate, and nothing else - why else would you continue to lie, lie and lie again when the truth can be found by anyone with 30 seconds to spare for a google search?

Your lies didn't get your candidate elected, so why continue with them?

YOUR OWN CANDIDATE said in 2008 (paraphrased) that anyone who runs a campaign based on talking trash about the opposition clearly has no clue what they are doing - and 8 years later he proved it.

Hey McCain08 - they really have you indoctrinated don't they?  In recent years, it has been the Republicans who have increased the national debt the most, starting back with Ronald Reagan and his Star Wars projects.  And ending (thankfully) most recently with Bush and his unjustified and very expensive war in Iraq.  We actually generated surpluses during the Clinton administration.  So why do you think the debt will increase under this Democratic administration?  Are you going to believe it because the opposing candidate said so?  Ha!

No. Because he's a socialist. My friend has a poem that he found on the web that is EXACTLY what Obama will do. It talks about how he comes to your door and takes your money. This will happen exactly like that. That is what socialism is, that is what spreading the wealth is. You obviously need to do some research to, and not say "because they are Republican". That will never work, as this democrat is 10x worse.

Maybe you've seen the poem? I know a lot of people have

Re: Politics

The discussion in this tread is a good one.  Unfortunately, the timing is not so good.  The election is over.  We have a new leader.

Now its a question of good leadership.

On Jan. 20, 2009 we will rightly expect that in his new role our new President will begin making fair and good decisions and provide good leadership for everyone in the United States, not just for the people who voted for him.

But good leadership is not something we should expect from just one person.

Many people are in leadership positions.  People rightly have expectations of Teachers, school club officers, parents, big sisters and brothers, Scratch administers, forum moderators and all other leaders to make good and fair decisions.  What examples come to your mind about the quality of the decisions you have made in your leadership role?  Do you help your leaders by supporting them and letting them know how to best represent you, what they are doing wrong and what they are doing well?

Bad luck, sunshine.  All the powers that were created by yourselves to abuse the citizens of America are now in the hands of your opponent.

Fortunately, it appears that Obama has more honour in his right knuckle-joint than Bush had in his entire cabinet, so whilst the potential for abuse is greater thenks o he last 8 years, we now have somebody in power who is less likely to abuse that potential.
