Is this because you don't like the advice you're being given?  Not to be rude, but you may not (and in my opinion, are not) right about this topic.

Let me see if I've got this right:

You are a sixth grade girl with a crush (understandable)
The boy you like is good at math and is chinese (not that race has anything to do with it, you simply brought that up)
You are not good at math (basically your own words)
You are failing math, and thus need a tutor (at least, you need help)
a+b=c: kid you like + good at math = great tutor (I understand up to here)
You "ask" him to tutor you (did you really?  I mean, besides the note)
You "tell" him you like him (a friend did it for you)
you give him a note that is a threat (i.e. tutor me or be beat up)

Why the heck would you do that?  No guy likes:
A) a girl who will beat him up
B) being beat up by  a girl

My advice: You chose the wrong path of persuasion.  Would you threaten your best friend like this if they were good at math and you needed help?  Chances are, since he's "forgein" (did he live in China at one point?), he probably feels a little out of place.  Be a friend to him, not an enemy.  He also may not be ready to, shall we say, wake up and smell the coffee.  Boys get these "urges" at a later age 9/10 times.  6th grade is also way too early to start dating.  I'm not just saying that.  If anyone here can name me one person that they can completely casually talk about when they broke up with them in the past, I will be astonished.  Dating is fun, sure, but it ends ugly a lot of the time.  Take the chance to be his friend first.  That way, if it doesn't work out, there's a chance you guys can still be friends.  You might also want to consult your parents on this (awkward, I know).  They can really help.  Believe it or not, your parents once considered themselves young and in love, just as you do now.  They know what you're going through and they're a great source of advice (usually).

Okay. I am good at math, just not Algebra.

I did NOT threaten to beat him up if he did not tutor me. I threatened to beat him up if he didn't put a response in my locker by Fri. before lunch.

And I TRIED to ask him, but he didn't listen.  smile

Okay. I will leave this topic open. But I'm rather ticked at these replies. Not so much what they say (they are all more or less true) but HOW they say it.

Thank you to KalinaStar for actually being polite about stuff. But to you people like DarthPickley and poopo, I suggest you either say it nicely or get the f*** off my topic before I report you.

And I know this isn't too polite either. Sorry.  smile

As far as he knows, to teach you stuff would be wasting his own time, if you can't even pay attention to the teacher. Also, 6th grade girls having crushes on boys are really scary...

you have not earned his respect. study up.

If you want somebody to help you, ASK THE TEACHER not another student.
You are not entitled to have others who are good at studying to teach you.
That is what teachers are for.
Also, violence would betray stu- I mean, it would not be a very smart thing to do.
You would be in trouble, and you would have horrible grades, and you would fail, and you wouldn't understand algebra at all, and you would later maybe do okay in geometry, but then do poorly in all other math classes after that in high school.

Also, I like you...

ALSO: Please tell me what these "4 uber-hard algebra problems" are. I am curious. I want to see whether it takes me less time to solve.

Oh, and if I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry, I'm just trying to do this other guy who you're harassing a favor. And did I mention that I think that 6th grade girls who have crushes on other boys are creepy?

The red stuff is stuff you should take note of. I'll write about it here.
1. FYI, I am paying attention. I just don't get the stuff.
2. If I ask the teacher for help, she will think I haven't been paying attention.
3. Seriously? You thought I meant social studies? You have GOT to be kidding me.
4. I'm not good at algebra, but I know enough of it to know that this equation is not possible.
5. Go to my school and ask 25 6th, almost 7th, grade girls if they have a crush on a boy. I can assure you that at least 23 girls will say yes.  smile

No, I'm in eigth grade and I dated a seventh grader who thought she was ready, but wasn't. Yes, times have changed for the worse. One of the worst is when kids jump into dating because here are the rules, and I've said this before:

Elementary: two days
Middle: two weeks
High school: two months
College: one night

That's about how it works except for really good relationships. And if you two can't even talk, why make an attempt? Stop trying to act like a grown up until you are one.

There's nothing wrong with liking people and trying to date people. If you're sour about past loves and don't want to date, that doesn't mean the rest of the world can't date.  smile

I'm trying to save you from heartbreak. Of course if you can't appreciate that then you might as well rip out your heart and throw it on a highway. That's actually pretty mild.

Trust me, you guys are in sixth grade. I'm in eigth, and I'm a thinker and have been in two relationships, both of which ended for no real reason besides the girl failing. So don't make an attempt till high school unless you want to be contemplating suicide for your middle school years.

Im not in sixth grade. I have recently been through a break up and sure I was sad for about a week, but I have to move on. And if you miss all the bad times with a girl/boy, then you'd have to miss all the good times too. I know im gonna keep liking girls/boys and dating or "dating" and things like that  smile

See? If you were only sad about it for a week it either wasn't a long relationship, wasn't a good relationship, or wasn't a real relationship.

Re: Aurgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you seem to like a new boy, I shall just explain algebra.

To start off, algebra looks like a jumble of letters until you get it. Once you get it, it is really easy. I could demonstrate a question. This one is easy.

12x + 4 = 28

The point is to isolate x, or have it by itself, since that is how you solve it.

Since 4 is like 28 (no X), do the opposite. Since you are adding 4 to 12x, subtract 4 from each side:

12x + 4 = 28
        -4   - 4

12x = 24

Ok, that is your current equation. Since 12x and 24 are alone, you must now do the opposite again. Since 12 is being multiplied by X, divide each side by 12:

12x = 24
/12    /12

12/12= 1. You are now left with 1x. 1x=x.

24/12= 2

x=2.

Do you get it?
