I'm not sure what the rate is, but whatever it is, it is slow, slow, slow.

2MegaBytes(16mbps connection by AIRTEL India) per second was the fastest I got
i had to get rid of it because that costed 2999 a month in indian currency
anyway the download speeds are dependent on server locations aswell so prefer the server closest to you for best results
also the speed u get (the actual speed u get in kilo/mega BITS per second ) divided by 8 will give u the upperlimit of the download speed of the connection in Mega/Kilo bytes per second . upto which it can download

My Satellite internet (Wildblue's Pro Package) is 1.5 Mbps (Megabits/sec, not Megabytes). It is not actually bad in terms of actual speed, but the latency (the time it takes for data to make a round trip) is horrible, because it has to go through satellites a few miles up in the sky.
We are planning to upgrade to a Verizon 3G (no 4G where i live, and there won't be for a long time) plan as soon as they release a plan with a cap of more than 15 GB (bytes this time
).

Somewhere around 3.5MB/s. I think that's pretty fast...
