I thought they did too. Until my best friend said she didn't have to take finals until high school. THE PAIN. And the finals are agonizing. Not the little "write a 2 page research paper on Ghandi" kind. No. That's EASY stuff. I have to make a 10 minute documentary about discrimination against homeless people. Plus I have a history final that is like 50-60% of our grades, and if you mess up... lets just say you're spending your third year in 6th grade history. My math final I didn't even finish. I couldn't. I barely finished the essay final, and when my mom saw it, she said she'd only seen an essay final like that in her senior year. See, we don't do the little "finals" that most schools do. We do FINALS. In fact, I've heard rumors about people going to college after my school and going "Hey, this is EASY." At least in high school you get to choose some of your classes (or at least that's what I've heard). And it isn't just the homework I'd like to rant about. Those are only a few things. If you were to ask a lot of people in college what the worst years of their lives were, 7th and 8th grade comes up. And plus, I started this forum for people to let off steam. Hence my little rant. It isn't to argue with you, I just happen to need to argue and I'll get in trouble if I argue with my family.

He suspended a high-school teacher (coach, actually) because he took some some of his/her players to a game in his/her own car (with their parent's permission, i should add.).

He stopped my brother's class's (2nd grade) Easter egg hunt at his teacher's house, because that is private property.

He is trying to stop all of the end of the year parties, because those take away from educational time.

Any questions about how our super-pain-in-the-butt is worse than your superintendent?

That is what we call hopeless. My parents want me to get into an amazing college, and they always say "High School Dropouts" like a swear. I would like to get into a college. An art, creative writing, or programming college.

Hey, me too. If I ruled the world, there would be no seventh grade. You'd go from 6th grade to 8th.

Our school has high standards. EXTREMELY high standards. Think college level classes DX. They offer Latin to sixth graders and there are quite a few of the younger set that are already going into advanced algebra. At least in high school you can actually PICK what you learn.
They're letting 6th graders take algebra? I wish my school offered that when I was in elementary school. I didn't get to take Algebra I until 8th grade. -_-

They do it in some private schools... my friend in 7th grade (the same grade as me) is taking Geometry now.

And, yeah, I like it sometimes too. Like I said, this is for letting off steam when you feel this way.
