Should zombies jump?

I am making a zombie shooting platformer, where so far, the zombies are geniuses. They know exactly where you are. But I don't know how far I should develop their brains (if they have any). When the zombies die or at the beginning of the level, they spawn (which happens at random times) and drop from the sky. I want to know if you think they should be able to jump to the platform above them. Yes or no? Why?

Re: Should zombies jump?

Maybe if you have different kinds of zombies, the higher ranked ones can and low ones can't.  If they're all the same kind, they should be able to or else you could possibly reach a place that is permanently safe.

I forgot to mention, once the zombies are killed, or at the beginning of a level, the spawn by dropping from the sky.
