lets say you made a awesome and you tried to upload it and it was more than 10 MB Thats why we need to change uploading scratch projects to 10 GB

The 10MB limit was because of the Java player limit. The size will change in the future because Scratch will be fully in Flash (not squeak and java separate), but not to 10GB, that's too big.

Part of the reason for it, is diskspace.

Server space was part of it, but the Scratch Team has said it was mainly due to Java and Scratch 2.0 will feature larger limits. 10GB is unreasonable though. No one would need that much space.

Yeah, and they DO have a semi-limit diskspace wise.

For now you can use this guide to keep your projects smaller The main thing though is to avoid adding many music tracks.

As many people have said and explained. I would like to explain to you how much a single gigabyte is. It is 1024 MB. So that would be 10240 which far to much space. That is more than even some of the biggest games take. The most I've even heard of is around 2 GB. The most anyone would possibly really need is 24 MB and maybe 96 MB for a really good project ( nice graphics, high quality sound, etc ) but otherwise, definitely not 10 GB.

My Halo Reach XBOX game is 6.7 (I think) GB. That is my largest game, I have none bigger than that. Scratch, a smaller program, should cap at 50mb not 10GB

That would probably slow down the Scratch server a lot. Although it would be helpful... I'm undecided.
