Yeah, I probably did. Oh well, the only thing of rarity/value I had was the moss stone, the saddle, a diamonds pickaxe, and about 5-10 gold.

When we have got back on and have finished in the cave we were exploring we'll either tele you there or make a warp. It would be /warp ms10 probably.

I'm actually quite surprised we made 10 mineshafts. I think I've been involved in 9 of them. Obviously there are lots more than 10 mineshafts in scratchia, but these ones are all the same style and everything. Actually, if that's true this is MS9 because MS1 was completely unrelated to the rest and was only used by me. But it was MS2 that I made, then gbear taught me tons about mining which basically started the MSs. I think 3-10 all have warps.

Starting to mine

If you are new to minecraft, you may be wondering how to start mining. Well, wonder no more, as I am about to tell you the very basics!
    First of all you need something to mine with. You could mine stone and minerals with your bare hands, however it will NOT drop a usable block. To mine stone and ores you need a pick-axe. Pick-axes aren't all the same. There are a few different types of picks (some have a higher durability [i-e: last longer before they brake and disappear] and mine through blocks faster). But the pick you'll make at the very beginning is a wood pick. To make this you need to have wood planks (not log) and some sticks. You need to open up your crafting bench menu and look at the 3x3 area. Drag a wooden plank to each square of the top row. Then drag a stick into the centre of the grid and the square below that, creating a pick shape.
    Now, once you've dragged your new pick into your inv., you can start mining. Put the pick in your hand and walk over to some stone. Hold down the left mouse button until a stone block drops out. Stone can usually be found on either cliff faces, caves, or about 3 blocks underground.
Some minerals are only found farther underground so you may want to make a stairway going down. By the way, don't dig straight down as there are various things which may happen, you may fall into a mob-infested cave or, if you're really unlucky, you may fall into lava.

coal
Coal is a relatively common resource used to create torches and fuel furnaces. You are most likely to find it in big open caves, but a small tunnel through a hill, or a stairway going down can be surprisingly effective when searching for coal. On your very first night, there's a chance you won't find any coal but if you make a furnace you can put a log block in, fuel being sapling, wood, etc. The log block will then become charcoal which is exactly the same as coal except with a different name (and charcoal and coal will not stack together). There isn't much to say about coal but that's a little advice.

iron
Iron is very useful for tools. In fact, almost all of my tools are made of iron (or sometimes diamond). This is a resource which will prove vey useful. It can be found almost anywhere in rocky places. I find it more often when mining, than when cave exploring. when you find it you will only be able to mine it with a stone pick or higher. Wood picks will mine it but will NOT drop the item. I recommend just making a little mine going down and hopefully you'll find some iron. Once you have mined it you will notice that you got a block - not an ingot. To turn it into an ingot you need to put it into a furnace and it will soon become a silver-coloured iron bar.

gold
Gold is not something you will really want that much as it's only good uses are clocks, and powered rails. (it can make tools, faster tools than diamond, but they degrade [are used up] as fast as wooden picks!) However, if your making a giant railway system, some gold can be useful. Sadly, I don't really have a strategy for it, as it is quite rare. Your best bet is to search in caves far underground. It will not be found near the surface, and I am unaware of the layer which they begin to be found (please tell me if you know).

lapis lazuli
This, like gold, isn't a very useful material. It can be used to dye sheep wool, and mix with other dyes. Like gold, your best bet is far underground caves.

DIAMOND
Diamond. The most rare, and arguably most useful resource in the game. This strategy is one told to me by gbear. To prove its effectiveness I'll tell you that before I knew it I had 15 diamonds. Now I have 93. You may have heard me talk about MS4, MS9, MS10, MS6, etc. Well, the MS stands for mineshaft. Here's how it works. You need to make a 2x1 mineshaft to about level 14 (use f3 and look at your y position- that's what level you're at.) Once you've got to level 14 make a little base. Ideally about 13x13. Now what you have to do is make 2x1 tunnels going out from the base. Make them 3 blocks apart to increase your chance. Keep doing that until you're satisfied (or get bored lol). The tunnels can be any length, but remember, the longer they are, the more chance of diamonds. If you hit lava in a tunnel you should either make a new tunnel, or or turn your tunnel.  So, as you've probably guessed, I have made 10 mineshaft for this strategy. MS1-10. By the way, I never work alone with the MSs. I always have someone like Dia, or gbear with me. By the way, if you've ever used the warp 'skel mob trap', that dungeon was found in MS7 or 8.
