I think that everyone believes that the front page is only worse than 07 - 08, because everyone was a n00b back then. And we thought everything was amazing.ught that ea

I'm gonna say no to that. The standards for the front page have risen, yes, but that doesn't mean that poor art with music should be on the front page every day. The fact that everyone was a n00b inspired us (I think) to do better, thus the best was on the front page. Now almost all of Scratch's secrets have been reveiled, and so the site as a whole has gone into a state of boredom. There is nothing to be discovered, that is why the front page is what it is. That's why RHY and m44 and Kileymeister and Colkadome and RichJones69 are so popular when the post stuff: it's a discovery most of the time. They've done something no one thought of better than most could have dreamed to do.
So my opinion is that the front page reflects a state of boredom among scratchers. This is why misc is so popular and why the front page stinks.

That might have something to do with it. Although I distinctly remember '07 - '08 being much more programming focused, whereas nowadays, standards seem to have lowered dramatically and quick animations are much more coveted as frontpage material.
Granted most of the games in those days weren't of great quality; however, they often felt more solid and generally more fun to play than today's games (probably because people weren't always trying to push Scratch past its limits... just saying).
So for these reasons, I disagree.

Er...sounds like we agree for the most part.
The only difference I spot is the origin and it's not by much.
Mine is boredom/ no discovery
Yours is that the limits have been pushed, creating a vaccuume for the front page.

Some of the games from '08 were just brilliant. I remember being pretty much a newareagle fanboy way back in the day because I loved his games so much. If you haven't played any of them, you should really check them out.
