Okay, I want to make a hat block that basicaly clears a file and sets a global variable. I've managed to make a standard stack block do this easily but I want to turn it into a hat block with custom text ect. How do I do this?
EDIT: it's also got to have a drop down menu.

I don't know the answer to this question, but here's a picture of the contents of my mind when someone says "hat block" to cheer you up!
on a more serious note, Daffy, I FINALLY have time to do the graphics you asked me for ages ago! do you still need it?

Create a subclass of HatBlockMorph.

LOL! I found out how to see image shack photos, copy the link for the pic, then put it on weebly thus I get:
WEEBLY ROCKS! As for the hat block question, I have tried many times but failed, I tried a forever hat block, when stop clicked. Everything turned out as a regular old, oh whats it called the block type is -? Command Block!

I'm trying to figure out how to make a working 'when <> is true' hat block.

It does work, but only if you've selected that sprite and the block is showing in the scripts editor.

To mimic hat blocks, couldn't you code a C-block that cannot be snapped onto other blocks and is a type of if? It can start even if the green flag is not clicked, etc.

go to Scratch-Objects>ScriptableScratchMorph>instance>--all-->blockFromSpec: spec color: blockColor and Scratch-Objects>ScriptableScratchMorph>instance>--all-->blockFromTuple: tuple receiver: scriptOwner and change stuff there
